I earned a BA in Philosophy from the University of Alabama and an MFA in Creative Writing from Rutgers University. My teaching journey began as an adjunct English professor at Rutgers for two years, followed by a year at a high school in Philadelphia and another in Denver.

 

A constant reader and writer of fiction, I place a premium on cultivating excellent writing skills in students and introducing them to exceptional literature, both classic and modern.

 

Blending philosophy's big questions with creative writing's imagination, I aim to kindle students' curiosity through thoughtful prompts and real-world ties, helping them craft stories and essays that reflect thoughtfully, express their own views, and explore fresh ideas.
