Jeff Attick, Ph.D.
High School Math
Hello! I joined Renaissance in January 2023 and I’m thrilled to be part of the Crew!
For the past 25 years I have been a public-school teacher in Pennsylvania, with experience teaching math at the high school and middle school levels. I have also taught middle school ELA, Literature, Civics, and U.S. History. My teaching experience has been in urban and suburban, as well as rural schools with a very diverse array of students, including ELLs, those with special needs, from low economic households, and minority backgrounds. I hold a Ph.D. in Human Development/Instructional Leadership.
I bring a diverse set of life experiences to the classroom including U.S. Air Force veteran, sponsored triathlete, high school baseball coach, yogi, landscape designer, small business owner, father and teacher. I also have a strong interest in nature activities as well as the visual arts, music, and theater.
My belief is that the relationships that develop between a teacher and students is the most significant factor in education. I believe that all students should be treated with kindness and compassion - always. Every student has the potential to grow. And, with the proper guidance, each student can grow in a positive and productive direction - not just academically, but as a well-rounded and well-adjusted person. I can, and will, help them to value themselves as part of the greater society and to see that they can, indeed, become meaningful contributors to mankind through an endless array of life choices.
