Libby McQuiston
6th / 7th grade Math
Hello, RSS Crew and family members!
I’m Libby McQuiston, and I’m very excited to be coming on board as a 6th/7th grade math teacher. This will be my first official year teaching, and it’s been a winding road, but I couldn’t be happier about how it’s led me to Colorado, and to RSS.
I was born and raised in Western Massachusetts (yes, I am a Bruins/ Red Sox/ Patriots/ Celtics fan), and graduated from Colgate University after studying Molecular Biology. Then I enlisted in the Army (remember that winding road?).
In the Army, I learned (and taught) Arabic, was trained in human intelligence and tactical questioning, jumped from airplanes (and a few helicopters), and (!!!) met my husband. We finished our military service in Georgia, where we ended up living for 14 years.
We have been married for 19 years now, and have three boys (Connor is starting 9th grade at DCHS, Ian is also joining the RSS crew, in 8th grade, and James is excited to start Kindergarten). After trying life as a stay-at-home mom, and quickly realizing that it was not a good fit for me, I decided to go back to school. I completed my teaching certification at Augusta University last spring, and only months later, found myself living in Castle Rock!
I look forward to meeting everyone, and to having a memorable year of math, XB lock, voyages, and fun!
