Wendy Maier

Hi, my name is Wendy Maier, and I am so excited to be a part of the 7th grade team again this year. This will be my third year at RSS, and my 33rd year working with kids. 

 

I have a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Child Development. I have worked over the years as a teacher in child care centers, as well as an Assistant Director and Director within the world of Child Care, worked as a Special Ed Para in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing preschool, and an Instructional Assistant at Renaissance Elementary school. My newest journey brought me to RSS when it opened. 

 

This year I will be supporting Rue and Hanni in the classrooms, and will also be working with small groups of kids to do more intentional support and instruction as needed. 

 

This journey into Secondary school has been scary and tiring at times, but so worth it when it comes to the amazing connections and relationships I have been able to build with co-workers, students, and families. 

 

When not in school, I enjoy spending time camping and at the family cabin with my husband and my grown son (when we are lucky enough for him to join us!) We enjoy hiking, Astronomy, building projects, and relaxing reading or doing puzzles.
