Jackie Bradley

Hello, Renaissance community! I’m so grateful to be part of the Renaissance Secondary Crew and have been a member of the RSS community since Fall 2020.

​

My name is Jackie Bradley, and I teach High School Social Studies and serve as Co-Advisor for our Student Leadership Team. While my academic interests span all of the social sciences, my greatest passion is helping build an inclusive, caring, enriching, and exciting school culture. I believe deeply that everyone belongs here, and that being your authentic, amazing self should always be welcomed, encouraged, and celebrated.

My father was in the Air Force, so I moved several times as a child. Once my family settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado has always felt like home. I earned my BA in Psychology and Secondary Education from University of Colorado Boulder (Sko Buffs!) and began my teaching career at Legacy High School. I spent nine years there teaching primarily Integrated American Studies and Student Government. Beyond the classroom, I also worked with student leadership programs throughout the Denver metro area and across Colorado.

Helping students come together to solve problems, shape school culture, and lead meaningful change has always been incredibly inspiring to me. During my time at Legacy, I took a year away from teaching to complete my master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum at CU. Returning as a full-time student was such a rewarding experience. I truly see myself as a lifelong learner and find so much joy in being part of a classroom—both as a teacher and as a student.

Eventually, my husband and I moved to Castle Rock as we started our family, and I stepped away from teaching for a time to be home with our kids.

​

My husband and I have three children—one in elementary school, one in middle school, and one in high school—so our family is busy and full of energy! We love spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, camping, and enjoying everything Colorado has to offer. And when we’re not outside, I’m known to throw some pretty great dance parties.
