Dr. Brandon Stover
I’m passionate about learning and believe deeply in the power of education to shape lives. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Millikin University and began my teaching career in Princeton, Illinois, where I taught middle school band, choir and social studies. After five years in the classroom, I pursued a Master of Arts at Goldsmiths, University of London, and later returned to Princeton to continue teaching for four more years.
In 2018, I moved to Colorado to begin a Ph.D. in Musicology at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I focused on global music traditions, particularly the traditional music of Japan. I completed my doctorate in 2024 and soon realized how much I missed working with students every day. I joined the Renaissance team in 2022 and am proud to help grow our small but mighty music program.
Outside the classroom, I love spending time outdoors—camping, hiking, biking, and geocaching—as I work toward my goal of logging 1,000 hours outside each year. Indoors, you’ll often find me playing board games with family and friends. My wife, who also teaches music at Renaissance, and I are raising two energetic boys who keep life fun and full.
