EXPANDING

TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY

Renaissance Secondary School is excited to announce our intent to grow our educational impact — our expansion to serve students from preschool through 12th grade. This expansion, aligned with our original charter agreement, builds on our commitment to providing innovative, project-based learning experiences for students in the Castle Rock community and beyond.

BUILDING

A LEGACY

Since our founding, Renaissance Secondary School has served as a dynamic learning environment for students in grades 6 through 12. Our educational model, which integrates project-based learning, expeditionary experiences, and design thinking, has empowered students to become critical thinkers, creative innovators, and compassionate citizens.

Driven by the community’s growth and the success of our current program, this expansion fulfills the vision outlined in our charter application—to provide a seamless and comprehensive educational journey from early childhood through high school graduation based in adventure education and Expeditionary Learning.

SUCCESS

A MODEL FOR

By extending our program to preschool and elementary grades, we aim to:

  • Create a cohesive educational experience: Students will benefit from a continuous learning journey that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills from their earliest years.

  • Foster a strong school community: Our expansion strengthens the bonds between students, families, and educators, creating a vibrant and inclusive community dedicated to lifelong learning.

  • Support innovative learning approaches: Our model, rooted in authentic, real-world projects, will now be available to students across all grade levels, offering a unique and engaging education designed for modern learners.

  • Meet increasing demand for opportunities: Castle Rock and surrounding Douglas County continues to face a need for excellent academic options, especially at the elementary level. Our commitment to the community drives us to meet the challenge!

Aiming Higher

A key component of the proposed expansion is to meet the needs of our current students with world-class facilities.

  • Cutting-Edge Laboratories: These advanced spaces will support hands-on learning and innovation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

  • Modern Athletic Facilities: Students will benefit from access to sports fields and recreational spaces, fostering physical wellness and teamwork.

A VISION FOR GROWTH

RENAISSANCE SECONDARY SCHOOL HAS PARTNERED WITH  THE TEAM AT RB+B ARCHITECTS TO CRAFT A MASTER PLAN FOR BOTH THE EXISTING CAMPUS AND ALSO A FUTURE SITE.

While we await future designs for our plan, some examples of their existing projects can be seen here:

About RB+B

"What if your school could become something extraordinary for students? A place where imagination is sparked and students are inspired?

Our design philosophy centers on the premise that a school should be a place for exploration and excitement as well as a teaching tool from which students learn about their world. Each school we design is unique enough to support the client’s educational delivery model and yet flexible enough to adapt as teaching and learning styles shift over time."

Meet the team at RB+B.
