Christina Shores

Educational Assistant & Climbing Instructor

Hello! My name is Christina Shores, and I am stoked to join the RSS crew as an Educational Assistant/Climbing Instructor for the 20-21 school year. I was born and raised in coastal Georgia (just outside of Savannah) where I grew up with a fierce love for all things outdoors. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Georgia Southern University with concentrations in Environmental Sustainability, Culture & Society, and an emphasis in Experiential Education. I also have a minor in Theatre.

My background is predominately in Outdoor Education, and I’ve been fortunate to live, work, and play in several incredible states - including California and Oregon, eventually landing in Castle Rock with my partner last August. While outdoor education is my true passion, I’ve also had the privilege to work in STEM education, OE administration, wilderness guiding, trail building, and natural resource management. I maintain a current Wilderness First Responder certification. In my free time, you can find me traveling around (the country and the world) to spend time in wild and beautiful places. I love backpacking, rock climbing, nature photography, and pretty much all things that require a significant amount of time in the great outdoors. I firmly believe that experiences teach us the best lessons, “someday” is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you, the earth is what we all have in common,  and that the only person you should compare yourself to is the person you were yesterday. I am incredibly excited to be joining the RSS team for the 20-21 school year.
