Jessica Simmons, a Colorado native, brings a wealth of experience to the board with a dedicated 25-year career at the elementary level. Her current roles in Douglas County School District as a Professional Learning Specialist, Administrator, Gifted and Talented Facilitator, and Gifted Lead for the Highlands Ranch Feeder area provide her with a variety of opportunities to develop both students and teachers. Jessica, a University of Colorado-Boulder graduate, holds a degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Science, along with a Master's Degree in Educational Technology. She earned National Board Certification in 2005 and most recently completed coursework for her Administrator License.
As a parent, Jessica's connection to expeditionary learning is deeply personal. Witnessing her own children flourish through middle and high school at Renaissance, she became a true believer in the school's philosophy. As she assumes the role of serving on the board of Renaissance Secondary School, Jessica is humbled to be able to contribute her expertise and to participate in guiding the school in its mission of fostering academic excellence and holistic student development.
