Learning Guide
Hi! I’m Mrs. Hammond
I am delighted to be part of the school family at Renaissance Secondary! There is so much excitement ahead of us. It will undoubtedly be a year full of fun, growing, learning, lots of new experiences and awesome adventures. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us!
A little about me:
-
I have lived in Indiana my entire life…..until moving to Colorado this summer, which has been a dream of mine for many years.
-
This will be the 22nd year I’ve had the pleasure of being a teacher.
-
I love teaching math and I am passionate about helping you get involved in community service.
-
My family includes my husband and our 3 children. We have a daughter Erika who lives in Colorado, a daughter Karey who lives in Illinois with our son-in-law Ben and our new grandchild - Harrison, and a son Alex who recently moved to Colorado with his dog Lincoln.
-
I love outdoor activities including biking, hiking, swimming and gardening. I also enjoy reading. However, my favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family. This summer I had a great time biking and hiking in Colorado as well as working in my greenbelt (garden). One of my greatest passions is traveling - especially to places that push me outside of my comfort zone like Kenya, Poland, Germany, and Barcelona. I love experiencing other cultures and meeting new people on these adventures.
It will be very important for us to work together as classroom families this year. We will be spending time together every day, so it’s essential that we treat each other with kindness, respect, and compassion. Each of you think and learn differently. As your teacher and/or advisor it’s my job to help you grow as a learner and as a person of good character.
Hopefully, you had time this summer to relax, play, and explore your interests. I’m so excited for you to teach me about the things you love and care deeply about. I can’t wait to meet you!
