Renaissance Adventure Education Coordinator

Daisy DeMonte

Hello! My name is Daisy DeMonte, and I’m excited to be part of the Renaissance Crew! My passion is getting kids outside and learning! I’ve been working with kids for over a decade, including 10 years in outdoor and adventure education. While I’ve always loved nature and being outdoors, my true interest in adventure sports began in college. I attended Garrett College and then Frostburg State University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Adventure Sports Management—a fancy way of saying I learned how to play outside and teach others how to do it safely!

My career in outdoor education has taken me across the country and even around the world, and I’m thrilled to bring my enthusiasm for the outdoors to the students, staff, and families at RSS.

Gwen Holton

Hi! I’m an outdoor educator with over two decades of experience guiding youth into the backcountry. As Outdoor Instructor / Team Leader at Renaissance Secondary School, I lead backpacking trips, team-building exercises, and climbing, canyoneering, rafting, and canoeing adventures for students. As a Wilderness First Responder and Wilderness Mental Health First Responder, I’m committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment where students can push their limits and grow.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, cooking with my husband, and playing fetch with my tuxedo cat, Paulie.

Holly Rossman

Hi, I’m Holly Rossman, and I’m so excited to be leading Renaissance students on our wonderful voyages this year! I’ve been with Renaissance since May 2025 and love all that each of our voyages have to offer. I grew up in Littleton, then studied adventure education at Fort Lewis College where I began my career in outdoor education. I’ve worked with students of nearly all ages in a variety of outdoor disciplines, from expedition backpacking to river rafting to summer camps.

When I’m not spending time outdoors, I love yoga, live music, and craft nights. Looking forward to hitting the trails!

Alex Tucker

Hey Y’all! My name is Alex Tucker and this is going to be my second school year with RSS! Outside of my time with RSS, I have been showing students the outdoors for 4 years while getting in as many miles of my own during the weekends. I am looking forward to another school year with RSS and all of the adventures we have planned!

Dave Vaillancourt

I bring a love for the outdoors that began at an early age and drove me from the East Coast to Colorado to make my passion my profession! Since 2015, I have been involved in various aspects of outdoor education, including guiding, experiential education, camp programming, and serving as a Park Ranger. I bring all of this experience into my work to support meaningful, confidence-building experiences in the outdoors for any who are willing to get out there.
