Hello, I am Allison Slabotsky. I am very excited to introduce myself as a new crew member and Middle School ELA teacher.

With a strong foundation in upper elementary education, I’m thrilled to bring my passion for literacy and experience in publishing to the middle school level. I believe in the power of storytelling, critical thinking, and the written word to inspire learners and help them grow into confident communicators. I'm especially excited to join the Renaissance community and embrace the Crew lifestyle alongside my daughter Lucy, who is beginning her own journey here as well.

Originally from Austin, Texas, my family and I relocated last June, drawn by the promise of beautiful weather and the opportunity to be closer to friends and family. My husband and I are proud parents to two amazing daughters, Lucy and Eleanor, who keep our lives full of energy and purpose. When I'm not in the classroom, you might find me traveling—my most unforgettable trip was a beekeeping safari in Malawi, a dream experience for a hobbyist beekeeper like myself.

At home, life is joyfully chaotic thanks to our three dogs (Dolly, Loretta, and Willie) and three cats (Creamy, Little Sock, and Mel). In my downtime, I enjoy reading, yoga, tennis, and live music, though more often than not I’m cheering on my daughters in their many endeavors—from theatre and orchestra to taekwondo and tennis.

I’m honored to be part of this community and look forward to a year filled with learning, creativity, and connection.
