John Shukie

Vice President

John Shukie is a consultant in the collegiate athletics industry, where he assists colleges and universities with navigating NCAA rules and regulations. He started his company in 2013 and enjoys working with his clients to find sustainable solutions to complex problems. His work is particularly focused on the NCAA’s Academic Performance Program, which is intended to promote enhanced academic experiences and improve graduation for student-athletes.

 

John holds a B.A. in History and Spanish from Bowdoin College, an M.S. in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a J.D. from the University of Chicago School of Law. Prior to starting his consulting company, John was an attorney for an international law firm, based in Boston and served as Director of Academic and Membership Affairs at the National College Athletic Association. He has also served as an adjunct professor at MSU Denver and Indiana University-Indianapolis.

 

John has been a parent in the Renaissance community since 2022 and has one child currently enrolled at Renaissance Secondary. In addition to serving on the Renaissance Board, he has also served as Unified Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Colorado, as a member of the Alumni Council for Bowdoin College and as a member of the Douglas County Special Education Advisory Committee (DCSEAC).
