
Carrie Cobb
Assistant Principal
Carrie Cobb's professional experience is vast. She started as a high school Severe Profound Summer Teacher, then into the world of middle school where she taught grades 6-8, English, ESL/MLL, and Humanities. She moved into Reading Intervention and school coaching for literacy. She discovered the Expeditionary Learning Model in 2003 and is the founder of two EL schools: MESA (Mapleton School of the Arts and Sciences 6-12) and Joe Shoemaker an environmental science-focused Pk-5 school in Denver. She has worked in school transformation and leadership for many years, including six years at Adams 12 Five Star Schools as a Language Acquisition Support Services District Coordinator and School Designer for the past 10 years with EL Education.
Carrie spent seven years at Regis University teaching and redesigning the Master's in Education program while working in Public Education. She is a school and program designer at heart.
Carrie holds several degrees: Bachelor's of Arts in English and Education from Adams State University, Master's of Education in Teaching and Learning and a Master's in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learners from Regis University, as well as her Organizational Leadership Certification from the University of Denver.
Carrie enjoys her Colorado time camping, boating, hiking, and nature photography with her husband, four children and her puppy. She is an avid reader, former operatic singer, and musical theater kid.
Carrie says she is a Renaissance Learner--I am curious about so many things...my mind is always on a learning expedition! I am happy to call Renaissance my new home.
