I am excited to join the Renaissance crew in my 7th year as a middle school math teacher!

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy. I went on to serve 20 years as an Air Force officer, retiring as a Lt Colonel. I have many fun examples from my experiences traveling all over the world that help bring math to life for the children. I also hold Masters degrees in both Counseling and Education and was blessed to have many assignments teaching and mentoring young adults.

I love sports and have coached competitive club and recreational youth soccer for over 25 seasons. Every team has a variety of individual talent levels. It is growth of each individual rather than comparison which makes the team stronger. Positive motivation, self-discipline, and an upbeat fun team climate are key.

I have an awesome wife and 7 children with very unique interests and talents who enjoy all sorts of activities. Together with our Suisse Shepherd and Bernedoodle, we make a great team! I understand how all children learn and experience the world differently. My goal is always to get to know each individual student to meet them where they are at and make their learning experience meaningful.
