I took a circuitous route getting to Renaissance! I was a forest firefighter, a geologist, an environmental specialist, and a stay-at-home mom. I even taught piano and was a yoga instructor for a short while. When my oldest son was at Littleton High School, I volunteered in the Post Grad Center and worked with students who would be the first generation in their families to attend college. It was then I realized I had found my passion in school counseling. (It is never too late!) In 2015 I simultaneously began a part-time job in the Post Grad Center and a Master’s in School Counseling program. I feel incredibly lucky to have landed at Renaissance. I strongly believe in inquiry- and project-based education, and I am eager to help Renaissance students see their own potential and find their unique best future!
I have a B.S. in Geology from Oregon State, an M.S. in Geology from Dartmouth College, and an M.A. in School Counseling from CU Denver. My husband and I have three children, ages 23, 19, and 18. Our family lived in the Middle East for six years, which infected us all with the travel bug! I also love running, hiking, skiing, reading, and yoga. And I am so excited to be at Renaissance!
